Benjamine Spencer has been incarcerated for 22 years. On March 28th 2008 Judge Magnis in the 283rd district court in Dallas county recommended “relief based on actual innocence”. It is now over a year later and Ben is still waiting. By signing this petition we are making our voices heard and joining the call for the release of Benjamin Spencer, an innocent man who should not have to wait any longer.

I am so disappointed in the past DA and even more with the current DA....Seems like Watkins will only free DNA people when his show is not taping. So sad to think that SO many people even past juror members believe in Ben's innocence and yet the DA sits and sits because he is afraid to speak up for fear he may not be re-elected....so sad

i've known Benjamine Spencer for 20 years. inside prison. having spent 26 years inside for crimes i did not commit, i have an unusual perspective. i've seen the evidence in the case, and i've seen the character of the man in the midst of dire circumstances. the evidence doesn't is very, very weak; Benjamine's character strong and true. Why isn't the DA embarrassed? Has he ever been inside a prison? Visited someone in prison? If he had he would have a little bit of compassion and justice would be the rule - not politics!!!
