s-HOBBS-large[1]So sad. Check out the article on my go to news source Huffington Post.I cannot imagine losing a child and then to be falsely accused of being the reason the child is gone is beyond comprehsion. This case didn’t happen in Texas but it looks like we will be able to welcome another exoneree home to Texas as Jerry Hobbs mother lives here and the article says he will likely be living here. Hobbs was convicted in the 2005 murder of his daughter and her friend. There is no physical evidence linking him to the crime and DNA testing matched  a man who was in the national database for another heinous crime. Hobbs apparently gave a false confession to police – which i can easily imagine after the intense of emtions of losing a child coupled with interrogation. The shocking part of this case for me is that it happened in 2005, as in not that long ago. It just goes to show us all how far we have to go in making sure we don’t continue the mistakes of the past and put procedures into place to make wrongful convictions closer to obsolete. Good luck to Mr. Hobbs and his family, let us know if we can help!
