Texas came very close to killing an innocent man and it could still happen. There is evidence that was not heard by the jurors, witnessed who have since recanted, DNA untested, etc. The death penalty is so wrong in so many ways not the least of which is that the system in not perfect and where an innocent man can be murdered by the state of Texas just so its citizens can satisfy their taste for blood and maybe kill some guilty people out of vengance too is just beyond obscene.
