imagesThe Supreme Court has decided not to hear the death penalty case from Texas involving a prosecutor and judge that had a previous sexual relationship as reported by the DMN.

I think this case is alluded to in the new book, The Autobiography of an Execution. Really great read and very human and interesting. It’s author believes that a handful of his clients were innocent and the book chronicles his struggle to save the life of one of them. I am a little puzzeled as to why the Willingham case seems to have been chosen as a poster child of sorts when it seems there are more sympathetic people who have been killed by our great state. Which is not to say the less sympathetic indivuals deserve to be killed who are innocent and even those who are not innocent if you are anti-death penalty. I do think there are a lot more cases in Texas that are not talked about and should be. When I am not working two jobs and taking care of two kids I might research that more and get back to you with more specifics or if anyone out that feels up to the challenge or already knows write us and blog here.
