A woman lied about being raped causing a man to be sentenced to 20 years in prison. He served 4 and then she recanted. Now she has been sentenced to  3 years. At first reading the article I was thinking “good, she deserves it!” and she probably does but then to read on and find out she has a one year old and seven year old makes me think twice but at least her kids will still be young when she gets out and she will not have completely missed them growing up as has been the case with some of the wrongfully convicted. It does just add to the double edged sword that convicting someone only based on “witness” testimony is truly dangerous- the flip side being sometimes there is no other evidence and someone could really be guilty. Some days I am glad I am not in charge of the universe.
